ROSS PARK

Public BBQ

Ross Park sits at the entrance to Ross River Dam wall, offering visitors a well-maintained barbecue area with tables and clean toilet facilities. The park provides easy road access and parking, though reaching the dam wall requires a steep walk that may challenge wheelchair users. While the dam itself isn't visible from the park grounds, the location serves as an excellent base for exploring the dam wall and surrounding area. The facilities make it particularly popular for events, including the annual Dam Fine Rally that attracts over 300 caravans and motorhomes from across Australia. Though camping isn't permitted, many visitors appreciate the tidy barbecue facilities and convenient access to this scenic spot near Townsville. The park's amenities and strategic location near the dam wall make it a practical choice for day visits and organised gatherings.
